Cette baisse spectaculaire s\u2019explique avant tout par l\u2019arr\u00eat prolong\u00e9 du complexe Loulo-Gounkoto, exploit\u00e9 par la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Barrick Mining, longtemps consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme le pilier du secteur aurif\u00e8re malien.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une source interne \u00e0 l\u2019entreprise a confi\u00e9 \u00e0 la r\u00e9daction d&rsquo;Africa Scoop, \u00ab depuis le mois de janvier, il n\u2019y a pas eu de production \u00bb. La m\u00eame source pr\u00e9cise : \u00ab Il s\u2019agit de l\u2019extraction du minerai. Ce n\u2019est que r\u00e9cemment que l\u2019usine a red\u00e9marr\u00e9, mais cela n\u2019a rien \u00e0 voir avec une reprise effective de la production \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cet arr\u00eat, survenu \u00e0 la suite d\u2019un conflit entre Barrick et l\u2019\u00c9tat malien autour de taxes impay\u00e9es et de l\u2019application du nouveau code minier, a paralys\u00e9 une grande partie de la production nationale. La mine n\u2019a repris ses activit\u00e9s qu\u2019en juillet et ne fonctionne encore qu\u2019\u00e0 25 % de sa capacit\u00e9, faute de pi\u00e8ces de rechange et de red\u00e9marrage complet des installations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les cons\u00e9quences sont lourdes : les objectifs fix\u00e9s par le gouvernement, soit 54,7 tonnes d\u2019or pour 2025, apparaissent d\u00e9sormais hors de port\u00e9e. En 2023, \u00e0 la m\u00eame p\u00e9riode, la production atteignait 38,5 tonnes. \u00ab Tout cela est d\u00fb aux probl\u00e8mes de Barrick \u00bb, a confirm\u00e9 un responsable du minist\u00e8re des Mines, sous couvert d\u2019anonymat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette nouvelle contreperformance, apr\u00e8s une baisse d\u00e9j\u00e0 marqu\u00e9e de 23 % en 2024, fragilise davantage un secteur strat\u00e9gique qui repr\u00e9sente pr\u00e8s de 70 % des recettes d\u2019exportation du Mali.
